Mercury Academy of Dance offers two separate pre – professional dance sessions throughout the year.  Beginning in August and ending in June is our Fall/Spring Session.  This session is 10 months long and culminates in our annual recital, a professionally produced performance in which our students are allowed the chance to show off all the hard work they have put in throughout the year in a display of both talent and artistry.  Enrollment for this session remains open through November 1st.

Our second session is known as our Summer Session.  This is typically an eight week session beginning in June and ending in August.  The purpose of our Summer Session is to offer recreational students a chance to try one or more of our classes before putting in a full years commitment, as well as offer our year-round students consistency in their dance training.  There is no formal performance associated with our Summer Session.

As a part of our Summer Session we also offer Summer Camps.  Camps are held during daytime hours and are typically a week long (Monday-Friday) with 3 hours of instruction taking place each day.  Each day of camp includes dance technique, choreography, and a dance related craft.  These Camps are great for new students who are interested in a particular style and want to find out what its all about!  Intensives are also held as a part of Summer Camps but are only recommended for our students with extensive dance training as they do not include a craft and place a heavier emphasis on technical skill and choreography.

We also offer a recreational dance program for kids that are interested in dance classes but not quite ready for a long term commitment. These sessions give the dancers a chance to dip their toes into different dance styles and be able to start classes during all times of the year. Although these kids may have minimal dance skills we want to give them the full experience that they would encounter in a normal dance classroom. We teach them about the style of dance they sign up for, musicality, exercises to practice at home, and a mini performance on the last day of class.
